| Description |
Adding
a water-resistant seal to a Boxer shipping case will minimize
environmental moisture (i.e. rain or dew) and dust entry. Not intended for
underwater applications. |

Cases
are first caulked throughout, including all extrusions, corners,
latches and handles. The standard groove extrusion is exchanged for a
special version which allows the insertion of a neoprene seal.
Special tongue-and-groove valance spanning latches are used -
rather than interrupting the split extrusion (like our standard latch)
they reach across the valance and clamp the lid to the case.
Please note: we have noticed a higher breakage rate with valance-spanning
latches than with our standard type. This is caused by the metal strap of
the latch sitting slightly proud of the case, thereby taking extra abuse .
We attempt to compensate for this fact by doubling-up our normal latch
quantities, and by recommending regular latch inspections and repairs if
necessary. |
